Itinerary

Upon arrival at Tribhuwan international airport, welcomed by our representative and transfer to hotel. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure. A pre trip meeting and briefing will held all together with you at hotel about the daily program activities by company representative and your trip Leader/Guide where you can discuss your final questions all together.

After breakfast the day will start with a guided tour of Kathmandu's historical and spiritual key attractions; including the historic Kathmndu Durbar Square, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambunath) and then finally visit to Patan Durbar square which is situated the heart of the city constitutes the focus of visitor's attraction. In the evening there will be pre-trip discussion where you can meet your group leader/guide then you can ask any questions you may have.

Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi which takes about nine hours by bus. You head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabru Besi passing through Dhunche. While passing along the road at the bank of Trishuli River you catch a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills. As you pass through Dhunche you feel as if you are heading towards deep land. At the same time, you notice that the road is still under construction. Sybru Bensi the cool town with the excellent view. .

This day, the first part of the trail crosses through Bhote Koshi and follows the Langtang Khola. This trail gradually climbs to Bamboo passing through the landslide area. Afterwards, your trek ascends gently to Rimche (2400meters) through Bamboo (1960meters) which lies at the bank of Langtang Khola. You can have lunch at this place if you like. Your trail is level to the Lama Hotel. En-route you could see red pandas, monkeys and bears if you’re lucky.

As we continue climbing there are occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung between the trees. At Ghora Tabela (3000m), the trail emerges into open ground. There was once a Tibetan resettlement project here, but now it is a Nepalese army post though it has no permanent inhabitants. The trail continues to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock up to graze in the high pastures during the summer months. There is a monastery which we can visit shortly before arriving at the village of Langtang, the headquarters of the Langtang National Park. The houses of Langtang and neighboring villages are of Tibetan style, surrounded by stone walls enclosing fields of buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips and barley.

The trail climbs gradually through small villages and yak pastures as the valley opens out further and the views become more extensive. After crossing several small streams and moraines, the trail reaches the settlement at Kyangjin. Here there is a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory. We should arrive at Kyangjin by lunch time allowing time to acclimatize and explore the area.

This day is a day to rest and explore the area. You can visit the monastery and cheese factory then take a walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin-Ri (4350meters) which is highest point of this trek, directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peaks.

From Kyangjin we continue further up the valley, climbing above the Langtang Khola and contouring around the hillside to the Yersa at Yala. From our camp here there are tremendous views towards the peaks of Dorje Lakpa (7000m), Kangchenpo (6400m) and Lonpo Gang (7100m).

From our camp at Yala it is only a short way to the top of Tserko-Ri (5066m). This is an easy walk to the prayer flags and Mani stones marking the summit, the highest point on a broad flat plateau. The views all around are spectacular, a 360 degree panorama of snow capped peaks including Langtang Lirung, Kimshun, Yanza Tsenji, Langtang-Ri, Pemthang-Ri, Langshisha-Ri, Dorje Lakpa, Kangchenpo and Naya Kanga.

Our base at Yala provides us with the opportunity to climb Yala Peak, a glaciated peak to the north east of Yala. The climb is not difficult and provides good acclimatization and training for our climb, the climb is straightforward being little more than a walk up steep snow slopes of around 30 degrees. Ice axe and crampons will be needed and most of the climb will involve walking roped together up the glacier. This climb is a superb introduction to mountaineering in the Himalaya with magnificent mountain scenery all around and views across to the mountains in nearby Tibet, including Shisha pangma.

This day we reserve for the day for unforeseen condition as bad weather, climber sickness or other hidden condition. We can use this day for climb if the abnormal situation comes

This day you retract to Ghoretabela that we used to reach Kyanjin Gompa. It’s an easy walk where the entire trail is downhill and flat. The trail offers you cool air throughout the rhododendron and pine forest.

The trail is same until Pahiro Lodge that local is used to visit to Thulo Syabru village. But a little bit after Pahiro we will leave our previous trail and turn on the left side to visit Thulo Syabru village. On the first part we will slightly go uphill trail and after that the trial is almost flat. Finally we will reach Thulo Syarbu village. In the evening we may visit a very old monastery inside the village

You take the broad trail climbing up to Dimsa village and the trial continues less steeply, through rhododendron, hemlock and Oak forests to Sing Gompa. On the way of your trek you will see fantastic views of Langtang Himala and Langtang valley. Sing Gompa is another popular place for Cheese.

From Sing Gompa the trail climbs gradually up and reaches Chalang Pati (3650m) where you have a splendid view of Langtang Lirung, Tibetan mountains and the forest filled with beautiful rhododendron and pine the trail ascends to Lauribinayak. From here the route ascends up to a small temple with a statue of Sakyamuni and further climbing you can see good views of Saraswati Kunda after trekking some while you will have excellent views of Bhairav Kunda and climbing gently you will reach to Gosaikund.

The trail leads to the northern side of Gosaikunda Lake, crosses a moraine, passing three more small lakes; you will reach Lauribina Pass (4610m). Until the pass the trail is moderately flat and it’s not hard to follow. Sometimes, the trail around the pass is covered by the snow and it might be hard to find the actual trail going towards the Ghopte. After the pass the trail is all the way down and easy to follow.

The trail continues up ravines and across the boulders of old moraines below the wreckage of a Thai Airlines plane that crashed here in bad weather in 1992. Make a final ascent to Tharepati. From here you will be at a junction of two routes, if you wish to visit the Helambu region then you can take another way via Tarkeghyang and Shermathang to reach Melamchi Pul Bazzar and finally drive to Kathmandu.. From Tharepati the trail precedes passing through forests, to Magen Goth (3420m) and to Panghu. The trail descends through fir and rhododendron forest observing the view of beautiful and glittering peaks on its way to Kutumsang (2450m). Another option is to continue from Tharepati to the other side of the Helambu circuit.

The trek continues along the forested ridge climbing to Thodang Betini (2260m) and to Chipling (2170m). Making a very steep descent the trail heads to Pati Bhanjyang (1860m), a Brahman and Chhetri village. Then the trail proceeds to Chisapani where you can see the mountain views and the sunrise on the Himalaya.

We start the day by climbing up the last pass of the trek at Borlang Bhanjyang, which lies at 2240 meter. From here we descend steeply through deeply eroded chasms towards the Tamang settlement of Mulkharka at 1800 meter. From here on it is a short bit to Sundarjial as we walk past the local water supply system and follow the water pipe to this village. From Sundarijal we can take local transportation, or have our private transport waiting for us to bring us back to Kathmandu

This full day at leisure to rest, relax or explore the local area in Kathmandu or do a bit of last minute shopping. You also have the option of doing some sight-seeing. Evening will have farewell meeting & dinner at Nepali typical restaurant.
